One Great Thing for Wednesday, 3/25

As parents grappling with life in the era of coronavirus ourselves, we know how hard it feels to get through these days—let alone what the next weeks and months will bring. Every day, we’ll share a few great things that are helping us cope with kids at home, work to do, and plenty to worry about. We hope they help you, too.

Real talk: Social distancing has been life for over a week now, and patience is running short. (Or is it just us?) To keep things positive, try making a point of recognizing when your kids are doing or being good—sharing well with each other, being kind, playing or learning independently—and give them some extra props for it.

It’s not all bad news out there. Here are some people’s silver linings in the midst of quarantine.

Stuck at home? Yes. Missing out on exploring the world? Not necessarily. Check out this list of international museums offering free virtual tours, from the British Museum in London to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

“What is one profession that you’re appreciating now more than ever before?” (Shout-out to the grocery store restockers!)

Ever heard of a crayon candle? Neither had we. Try making one using the bits of broken crayon your kids aren’t drawing with anymore.
